Mellor Vancraft was formed in 1998 as an ‘off-shoot’ of its sister company Mellor Coachcraft and operates in its own right situated on our main site in Westhoughton. The manufacturing operation is housed in its own purpose built factory, designed to operate as a true production line facility.
Mellor Vancraft along with the other companies within the group, have always backed their craft skills with substantial investment in plant, machinery and paint technology.

| High Skill Levels & Expertise |
The starting point for every Mellor Vancraft vehicle is a standard van, bought from the manufacturers dealer, but that’s where the standardisation finishes and the conversion work begins. The factory comprises of two dedicated production lines, split into 7 specific build stages, the vehicle progresses down the line moving generally on a daily basis. A dedicated team of operatives, who take pride in their work, achieving the highest levels of build quality, man each stage.
Wherever possible, Mellor builds the components it uses within the factory, the only significant exceptions being tail-lifts, seats, window glasses and electrical components that are purchased from specialist producers to Mellor’s stringent specifications.

When it is time to decide on seating layouts, Mellor offer a full consultancy, and will draw seating plans and handrail layouts to meet your requirements. We will also assist you to decide on the most suitable seat for your needs and give advise on seat fixing methods, passenger and wheelchair restraints, heating and ventilation systems, upholstery levels radio/sound systems and additional storage requirements.
Any paintwork required is carried out in the Vancraft facilities own paint plant, prior to the conversion work being carried through.
